Mr. Tariq Siraj Jafri holds a degree in Engineering and an experienced industrialist by profession having interests in agriculture, fish farming, dairy farming, horticulture & meat processing. Currently serving as the board member of PIEDMC, he is contributing in shaping the industrial sector & growth of Pakistan.

Mr. Shahid Hussain Tarer

Managing Director – Galaxy Rice Mill (pvt) Ltd.

Mr. Shahid Tarer has spent most of his early life in England for Education and after completing his BSc Management Science from London University, returned to Pakistan to join the family business.

Currently he is the Managing Director of Galaxy Rice Mill (pvt) Ltd, Gujranwala. In the last 8 years he has led the company to become a successful exporter by exporting rice to many countries in the world. He has also been involved in running a Marble manufacturing business as well as being involved in quarrying marble and granite. He has been a Director at Sialkot International Airport for the last 10 years. He believes in investing in innovation and the latest technology to enhance human potential. His international exposure gives him a keen eye on global trends. He has a passion for agriculture and the potential contribution it can make to Pakistan’s economy and society. PIEDMC can benefit from this knowledge and passion as he brings a deep insight and understanding of how to use our strengths to achieve the ultimate goal.

Dr. Sumaira Rehman

Rector, Superior College

Dr. Sumeira Rehman holds a Phd in Women Entrepreneurship and Work Life Interfaces. With a strong belief that quality education will bring a positive economic and social change in Pakistan, she stepped into academia to play her part in building the future force; our upcoming generation. A supporter of women empowerment by choice and an academician by profession she specializes in women entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Rector at Superior College she is a strong catalyst of entrepreneurship and introduced it in diverse faculties university wide. She has worked to provide the students conducive environment, hence her work experience encompasses championing the entrepreneurial revolution at university level and beyond. Her passion and drive to improve the work environment with a focus on women entrepreneurship can have a very positive impact on PIEDMC. Though her experience and vision entrepreneurship within the industry can flourish specially giving women entrepreneurs a voice.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, PDTRC

Prof. Dr. Zaka-Ur-Rehman Ph. D, LL. B has joined PDTRC as COO on April 27, 2020 after getting lien of the post, Drugs Controller, Health department, Government of the Punjab. He has served health department for 30 years and performed very well in the capacity of Chief pharmacist/ AMS Children Hospital, Lahore, Chief Drugs Controller, Punjab, Secretary Punjab Pharmacy Council, Lahore.

Dr. Zaka, is a HEC/ DRAP approved Research Investigator and a senior pharmaceutical expert member with 30 years of public sector Administrative/Regulatory/judicial/Teaching and Research experience. He has 11 Research Papers published in National/ International Journals with significant Impact factor on his credit.

At the time of his joining as COO, he took the challenge of operationalization/ sustainability of status of PDTRC as a WHO prequalified/ ISO/IEC accredited lab. Under his dynamic leadership/ vision, Alhamdulillah, PDTRC has achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2017 version accreditation.

In the year 2021, a novel type of WHO standard drug bioequivalence testing project (PC-1) of Rs. 100.87 million was prepared with the mission of financial sustainability of PDTRC. The same was approved by Industries Department, GoP. Further DRAP, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Co-ordination, Islamabad has approved/ declared PDTRC as Bioanalytical/ Drug Bioequivalence conducting Research Lab/ CRO.

Prof. Dr. Nadeem Irfan Bukhari

B.Pharm, M.Phil (Pharmaceutics), PhD (Pharm. Tech.), Professor of Pharmaceutics, University College of Pharmacy

Prof. Dr. Nadeem Irfan Bukhari joined University College of Pharmacy, University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2001. He held teaching positions with International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, University College Sedaya International (UCSI), Kuala Lumpur, School of Pharmacy and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Bahawalpur. Before, he worked as Radio pharmacist & Hospital Pharmacist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Lahore.

At IMU and UCSI he was also involved in the Pharmacy programs of University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, and Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He published more than 88 research papers in journals of impact factors and authored or coauthored a couple of professional books. As a member, Panel of Experts, Ministry of Health, Government of Pakistan, he provided consultation on the matters related to Pharmaceutical industry. He delivered invited lectures at international institutions including University College London, London, UK. He has been visiting professor at DeMont Fort University, Leicester, UK. His students have accomplished PhD degrees from DeMont Fort University, University of Otago, New Zealand and University of the Punjab, Lahore. Areas of his research are: Pharmaceutical Technology, Nanotechnology, Liquid/Semisolid Matrix Technology, Artificial Intelligence in Formulation Design, Innovative Deliveries, Bioequivalence, Bioavailability, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical statistics, PK-PD modeling, and Pharmacogenomics.

Dr. Nadeem is recipient of a research fellowship from University College London, London UK. He obtained several international research grants and sponsorships from IMU and World Health Organization-Health Action International. He obtained B. Pharm and M. Phil degrees from Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan and University of the Punjab, Lahore, respectively and of PhD from University Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Based on his performance during his B.Pharm, he was awarded President's Talent Scholarship.

Dr. Zeba Ahmad Shuja

Director Technical Schazoo Zaka (Pvt.) Limited

Dr. Zeba Ahmed Shuja is a graduate of the historical Punjab University. She graduated as a Pharmacist in 1986 & went on to completing her MPhil degree (Pharmaceutics 1994) and then PhD (Pharmaceutics 2010) from the same university. She joined Schazoo Laboratories as an R&D officer in 1987. She has worked as Director Technical heading all technical operations at Schazoo Zaka for many years. Dr Zeba has over 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and is one of the pioneers of innovation & development in the Pharma Industry of Pakistan. Her merits include the development of many Anti TB formulations including pediatric dosage form for children. Dr. Zeba has attended courses for Total Quality Management, Production Operations, New Product Development and Project Management at the Prestigious LUMS University.

She is a renowned cGMP expert & her expertise is widespread with reference to Documentation (ISO 9001) Environment Safety (ISO 14001) and Good Laboratory Practice (ISO 17025). Dr Zeba has been working in close collaboration with the government of Pakistan & International agencies like WHO, USP and USAID in order to bring a positive transformation in the quality of medicines produced in Pakistan. Dr. Zeba has participated in WHO and USP PQM International workshops, conferences & trainings around the world & has presented her papers globally. She has inspected many API Manufacturers as an Auditor in China, India and EU region.

She has acted as an Inspector for DRAP for Bio Centers and has been member of Board of Syndicate at UVAS. She also played a pivotal role in the Construction and establishment of PDTRC Lab as a Board Member at Sundar. She has been a member of Board of Study for Lahore Collage for Women University, Hajvery University and University of Lahore for the Pharmacy Department. She has also been an External examiner for Punjab University MPhil Thesis.

Dr. Zeba has been managing the operations of Almas Zaka ur Rehman Foundation School and Hospital at Kalalwala and Qadir Nazir Memorial Trust at GT Road, Lahore for Needy children and Patients. She is currently Chief Executive Officer of Schazoo Zaka (Pvt.) Limited (A healthcare manufacturer since 1951) Dr. Zeba is a role model for pharmacists all over Pakistan.

Mr. Khawaja Shahzeb Akram

Vice President Mass Pharma (Pvt.) Limited

Mr. Shahzeb Akram started his career from senior position as the Vice President of Mass Pharma Private limited, another leading pharmaceutical company in Pakistan.
Mr. Shahzeb Akram is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Pharma Health Pakistan Private limited since 2005. He is the director Gallop Water Science private limited the leading IV Lines state of the art manufacturing unit at Lahore. He is also serving as the Director SJ&U Enterprises, the leading national distributor of quality pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Shahzeb Akram is the current Chairman of the APDC, the ALL PAKISTAN ASSOCIATION OF DERMATOLOGICAL COMPANIES. Mr. Shahzeb Akram has been the Chairman of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, PPMA whereas he also served as the central executive committee member previously and he was elected as the youngest Vice Chairman for the year 2009-10. Mr. Shazeb Akram had proudly been chosen as the President MJF Lions Club. Mr. Shazeb Akram is the Senior Vice President of Pakistan Business Forum, PBF and has been actively involved in the developmental activities at both corporate as well as government levels. Mr. Shahzeb Akram has also served as the Vice Chairman of The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front. PIAF. He was the Executive committee member of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries for the year 2017. At the Federation level, he is the Chairman Business Man Panel, BMP PUNJAB. He is also the Chairman Standing Committee Sunder industrial Estate owners Association. He is the member of SAARC Chamber Young Entrepreneur Forum, SYEF. Mr. Shahzeb Akram is the active member of number of committees which include but not limited to:

– Member Board of Management Punjab Procurement regulatory Authority, PPRA

– Former EC Member & Convener Pakistan Pharmaceutical Standing Committee, LCCI

The Turkey Business Community has conferred upon him the MECC AWARD 2012 which shows his corporate efforts being appreciated in the world trade with a special eye on the international horizon. He is member of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club along with many other clubs and associations.

He is a dynamic person with a vision to grow strongly. Despite of his business engagements, he is an active member of number of trade and commerce platforms where he is representing the business community. He has a natural flare to meet the people with a vision to improve the issues both publically and through official means. He has been entrusted upon by the business community to plead difficult matters to the higher ups and the concerned authorities. Which he has been doing quite successfully.

Dr. Uzair Nagra is an entrepreneurial and CEO, Medisearch Pharmacal (Pvt.) Limited, with over 15 years’ experience of leading pharmaceutical industry and expertise in founding numerous companies in domestic and international marketplace.

Dr. Uzair Nagra has completed Ph.D. (Pharmaceutics) from University of Lahore, M.Phil. (Pharmaceutics) from University of Lahore and MBA from Beaconhouse National University. He is currently Chairman of NAGRA Group and CEO of Revco Pharma, Axial Technologies, Horizon Optimization and NAGRA Trading Co and Chairman of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association (PPMA-N) and Reformers Pharmacist Pakistan.

Dr. Uzair Nagra has diversity of achievements particularly in the pharmaceutical and public health sectors that is 100 best performing CEO’s/ Companies of Pakistan in CEO Summit Asia 2021, as Deputy Convener of FPCCI Punjab Standing Committee, as Chairman, Licensing Committee (PPMA), Registration Board Committee (PPMA), Standing Committee on Health (LCCI), Chairman Convention Committe (PPMA), Executive Committe Member LCCI, and General Secretary, Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA Center).
